TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida League of Cities, the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments, announced that City of Destin Mayor Pro Tem/Councilwoman Dr. Prebble Q. Ramswell was recently appointed to serve on the Florida League of Cities 2020-2021 FLC legislative policy committee.

Legislative policy committee chairs, vice-chairs and members are appointed annually by the League’s president. Florida League of Cities President Tony Ortiz, commissioner for the City of Orlando, made the appointments for this term.

As a legislative policy committee member, Dr. Ramswell will help develop the League’s Legislative Action Agenda, which details priority issues that are most likely to affect daily municipal governance and local decision-making during the upcoming legislative session, as well as help League staff understand the real-world implications of proposed legislation and are asked to serve as advocates throughout the legislative process.

“It is an honor and privilege to represent the City of Destin as I work alongside other elected officials to ensure the integrity of home rule and pursuit of policy benefiting our cities,” stated Mayor Pro Tem/Councilwoman Dr. Prebble Q. Ramswell.
