[ARCHIVED] City of Destin to Cancel March 16th City Council Meeting and Facility Activities

Destin, FL. – The White House has now released nationwide guidelines that recommends Americans to avoid gatherings of more than 10 people. To protect the well-being of our citizens, the City of Destin is cancelling tonight’s executive session at 5:30 p.m. and the regular city council meeting slated for 6 p.m. at the Destin City Hall Annex, located at 4100 Indian Bayou Trail. The City is also suspending activities through Monday, March 30th, 2020, at the following facilities:

  • Destin Community Center
  • Morgan Sports Center
  • Buck Destin Park
  • Destin Library

These facilities will be closed as a proactive measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Destin City Hall will remain open as well as other department facilities. Destin’s beach parks and facilities will also remain open.

City officials remain vigilant and in constant contact with the state and local health department and Okaloosa County Emergency Management. As information evolves regarding COVID-19 city officials will provide updates across all city social media platforms and website. We encourage everyone to monitor credible sources and information can be found at www.healthyokaloosa.com. For health-related questions the public should call DOH – Okaloosa at 850-344-0566 Monday - Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. The state’s call center is 1-866-779-6121 and is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week or email COVID-19@flhealth.gov.
