Destin, FL. – The Destin Library is proud to display the artwork of the Beaty family all through the months of January and February. The colorful and diverse paintings line the walls of the library and are available for viewing during normal business hours.
The Beatys are long-time residents of Destin, Florida. Dill Beaty studied at Harris School of Advertising Art in Nashville and had a long career in the music industry as a designer, art director, and photographer. He ran Smokehouse Studio and has created editorial cartoons for The Destin Log for over 15 years. Dill’s wife, Julie Beaty, was an English major at the University of Nevada and a Drama major at University of the Pacific. She later became a self-taught painter and owned and operated The Deer’s Nest Art Gallery in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The Beatys’ daughter, Krista, attended Northwest Florida State University with a degree in Art and is an accomplished sculptor as well as a painter.
