Destin, FL. – In partnership with the Genealogical Society of Okaloosa County, the Destin Library will host a family history research and document digitization day on January 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Appointments are required and will be scheduled every 30 minutes.
Patrons are invited to bring their family history documents and photos to scan and save in digital format using the library’s new high-resolution document and film scanner. Equipment will also be available to photograph and preserve images of items like family Bibles or small heirloom objects.
Genealogical Society of Okaloosa County President, Cindy Barber, along with other volunteers, will offer several family history mini-workshops you can attend while you wait for your appointment:
10:00 a.m.: Introduction to Family History Online
11:30 a.m.: Protecting your Photos and Documents
1:00 p.m.: Introduction to Family History Online
2:30 p.m.: Protecting your Photos and Documents
