The City of Destin honored volunteers at its annual Open House on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Destin Community Center. Mayor Sam Seevers and the Destin City Council thanked 42 volunteers who attended the event and presented them with a Team Destin pin.
In 2012, more than 200 volunteers contributed to the success of countless city programs, events, projects and committees.
Volunteerism is the essence of what makes Destin great. With a reduced staff, the city relies heavily on the help of volunteers to provide wonderful opportunities and assets to Destin residents and visitors year round.
