Destin, Fla. – Join us for the City of Destin’s 33rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting which will take place outside at the Destin Community Center on Thursday, December 5th, 2019, at 6 p.m. Local choruses and musical groups will be providing entertainment and refreshments will be served after the lighting of the tree. Santa Claus will also make an appearance. The event is free to the public however, donations of canned food will be collected to help local families in need.
The 35th annual Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2019, at 10 a.m. This year’s theme is “Santa’s Workshop.” The floats will begin at the Downtown Destin Shopping Center (Old Time Pottery) and travel west down Harbor Boulevard (Hwy 98) to Stahlman Avenue. Spectators are asked to stand on the north side of Harbor Boulevard to watch the parade.
For those who wish to participate in the parade, applications are available at the Destin Community Center. Applications must be turned in no later than Friday, December 6th, 2019, and can be dropped off in person, faxed to 850-654-8998, or email to islaton@cityofdestin.com. In lieu of an entry fee, each applicant must donate a toy which will be given to a local charity. All donations can be dropped off at the Destin Community Center.
