Destin, Fla. – Catherine Kennedy, North Florida’s Senior Wildlife Assistance Biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Wildlife Assistance Program will make a presentation at the Destin Community Center on Thursday, February 7th at 5 p.m. Kennedy’s presentation will focus on helping our community understand and live with this mid-sized member of the canine family and discuss why coyotes are now present in the state, their biology and role in the environment. The presentation will also address ways to protect family pets, safety around coyotes and securing attractants. This presentation is open to the public for education, outreach and technical assistance to mitigate and prevent human-wildlife conflict.
