NOTICE OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTON – CITY OF DESTIN
The City of Destin will have a special election for the following office on the ballot in conjunction with the March 12, 2019, Municipal Election:
City Council, one seat: to fill an unexpired term (two years) to the council candidate with the highest number of votes
Candidates must be qualified electors and residents of the City of Destin for at least one year prior to the first day of qualifying. Candidates are elected at large, by highest number of votes.
The qualifying period shall commence at noon on Monday, January 14, 2019, and shall close at noon on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. All candidates shall qualify with the Supervisor of Elections Office at 1250 Eglin Parkway, Suite 103, Shalimar, Florida. The Supervisor’s office may accept and hold qualifying papers submitted not earlier than 14 days prior to the beginning of the qualifying period, to be processed and filed during the qualifying period. To qualify, a candidate must file the required papers and a nominating petition signed by 25 qualified electors of the City of Destin. Voting will be held for residents of the City of Destin at Precinct 20 (Destin Community Center, 101 Stahlman Avenue), Precinct 35/44 (Destin United Methodist Church, 200 Beach Drive), and Precinct 50 (Destin City Hall Annex, 4100 Indian Bayou Trail), on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 7 am to 7 pm.
