The City of Destin is now accepting applications for appointment of an Interim City Councilmember. The application will be for the seat vacated by former Councilmember Tuffy Dixon and the seat will be pending the outcome of a special municipal election in March of 2019.
The deadline to submit an application is 11:59 PM on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2018. Applicants must be registered voters of the City of Destin and shall have resided within the city boundaries for at least one year. Application forms are available online here. Residents can also obtain an application by contacting the City Clerk at 837-4242. All applications will be submitted to the Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections for residency verification purposes.
City Council is expected to discuss candidates and potentially make an appointment at a January 7th special City Council meeting to be held at 5:30PM, at the City Hall Annex Council Chambers, 4100 Indian Bayou Trail.
