Destin, Fla. – The Destin City Council has set its FY19 budget hearing dates for Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at 6 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at 6 p.m. The annual budget workshop is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at 5 p.m. All meetings will take place in the council chambers at 4100 Indian Bayou Trail. The public is invited and encouraged to take part in the city’s budget process.
The council has set the city’s tentative millage rate for FY19 at 1.615 mills, which is the same rate as FY18. A rollback rate of 1.552 mills was also confirmed in the council’s adopted motion, which would provide the city with the same amount of ad valorem revenue in FY19 as in FY18. The city saw a growth in property values last year of 6.42 percent.
