James R. Foreman was inaugurated to the Destin City Council at the regularly scheduled council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 4. The seat was vacated in August by Larry Hines. Foreman will serve in an interim capacity until the general election on November 6. He has announced that he will run for the permanent seat in November.
Foreman has lived in Destin for 28 years and is retired from the military. His civic involvement includes two terms on the Destin City Council (1996-2000 and 2002-2006) and he has served on various city committees, including the Charter Review Committee in 1988. He is currently on the board of directors for Destin Water Users, Inc.
