James R. Foreman was inaugurated to the Destin City Council at the regularly scheduled council meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 4. He will serve in an interim capacity until the general election in November. The seat was vacated by Larry Hines.
Foreman has lived in Destin for 28 years and is retired from the military. His civic involvement includes two terms on the Destin City Council (1996-2000 and 2002-2006) and he has served on various city committees, including the Charter Review Committee in 1988. He is currently on the board of directors for Destin Water Users, Inc.
He will serve in the interim position until a permanent member is elected in the general election set for Nov. 6. He has announced that he will run for the permanent seat in November.
