The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public information open house concerning the State Road (S.R.) 30 (U.S. 98) widening project in Okaloosa County Thursday, June 15, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. CDT at Grace Lutheran Church, 4325 Commons Drive West, Destin.
This project will widen S.R. 30 (U.S. 98) to six lanes between the Okaloosa/Walton County line and Airport Road. Additional improvements include bike lanes and new sidewalks along each side of U.S. 98, a new signal at the Indian Bayou Trail/Restaurant Row intersection, upgrading existing traffic signals, and drainage improvements. Work is scheduled to begin this summer with completion slated for fall 2020.
A postcard is being sent to public officials, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. The postcard can be viewed here. There will not be a formal presentation; however, maps, drawings, and other information will be on display and FDOT representatives available to provide information about planned construction work and potential impacts.
