The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public hearing concerning proposed improvements to State Road 30 (U.S. 98/Harbor Boulevard), from the East Pass Bridge to Airport Road in Okaloosa County, Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. CDT at the Destin City Hall Annex Council Chambers, 4100 Indian Bayou Trail, Destin. The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6 p.m. followed by a public comment period.

The FDOT proposes to mill and resurface this portion of U.S. 98 from the East Pass Bridge to Airport Road. Additional improvements include striping to provide a dedicated bike lane, adding an eastbound, right turn lane into HarborWalk Village, and an eastbound, left turn lane into the Days Inn / Chick-fil-A shared driveway. Access management modifications will also be constructed between Calhoun Avenue and Palmetto Street.

Right of way acquisition is not anticipated for these improvements. The project is funded for construction in Fiscal Year 2019.

Attached is a copy of the brochure that is being sent to public officials, organizations, property owners, and individuals interested in the project. It will also be available at the hearing. Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments. Your comments are welcome and appreciated.

Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status.
