Since 2005 the City of Destin has conducted citizen surveys every two-three years to gather resident feedback and input. City staff and councils use this survey to help identify clear priorities for use in strategic planning and budget setting and to compare our performance against other like cities across the nation. It is survey time again. The scientific survey is currently being mailed to 1,500 random residential addresses within the city limits of Destin.
Since 2011 the City has used an independent consultant, the National Research Center (NRC) based in Boulder, CO., to administer its National Citizen Survey (NCS). The NRC is a leader in the field of public sector scientific research and evaluation. The survey has been set up so that no identifying information is captured. In addition all responses are kept by the independent firm, NRC, Inc., who takes seriously the promise of anonymity in the survey research industry and ensures that all responses submitted are anonymous and cannot be tracked to any individual member of a community. Demographic questions are asked solely to properly weigh responses to reflect characteristics of the entire community.
If you are sent a survey, please take the time to fill it out and return it to the NRC. Your opinion matters.
