The City of Destin will host its Annual Open House on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Destin Community Center in conjunction with Florida’s City Government Week. This year’s event theme is “It Takes a Fishing Village” and will include booth displays by city staff and community partners, games, free lunch and information about the city.
This annual event provides the city with the opportunity to show its residents, businesses and visitors how much they are appreciated and gives city staff a chance to showcase its services, projects and departments. The city will also recognize its many volunteers during the event and will conclude the festivities with a volunteer group photo.

The city will also host a FREE Community Shred Day during the event. Residents and businesses can bring old documents to be shredded on site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community Center, 101 Stahlman Ave.
A fish fry will be served buffet-style beginning at 11:45 a.m. Council, staff and city partners will be on hand to meet and talk with the public.
