The city will cut the ribbon for the Hutchinson Street Improvement Project on Wednesday, March 9, at 3 p.m. near the Beachside Inn on Hutchinson Street.
The city broke ground on the Hutchinson Street Improvement Project on September 21, 2015. The cost was approximately $750,000 with a grant covering $382,000.
The project largely included pedestrian improvements (bike paths and 10-foot sidewalks) to the roadway and rights-of-way from U.S. Hwy. 98 to Scenic Hwy. 98. The scope of work also included resurfacing and restriping the road in some areas. The project was partially funded by a Florida Department of Transportation grant through the Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Transportation Planning Organization. The construction contractor for the project was H&T Contractors, LLC, and the construction, engineering and inspection (CEI) consultant was DRMP.
