[ARCHIVED] City of Destin to Hold Public Workshop Regarding Crosstown Connector

DCTC 30 percent Graphic.jpg

The City of Destin and its consultant, Atkins North America, Inc., will hold a public workshop regarding the proposed Crosstown Connector (Azalea Drive Extension) on Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the City Hall Annex.

Maps and project information will be on display and representatives from the city, along with project engineers and planners, will be available to explain the proposed improvements and answer questions.

The proposed connector would create approximately 0.4 miles of new four-lane roadway through Destin with an intent to provide a direct connection to the east-west corridor as an alternate route to U.S. Highway 98 for local traffic. The proposed improvements would begin on Azalea Drive just west of Benning Drive and extend eastward just past the intersection of Legion Drive and Beach Drive. The project passes through the area of Anna Street, Sandalwood Court and Sandalwood Drive.

Questions regarding the proposed project or this meeting should be directed to Public Services Director/City Engineer David O. Campbell, P.E., at (850) 837-4242 or via email at dcampbell@cityofdestin.com.

The Destin City Hall Annex is located at 4100 Indian Bayou Trail (next to the Destin Dog Park).
