The City of Destin will host the Destin-Emerald Coast Senior Olympic Games 2015 beginning in February. These Olympic-style games are a series qualifier for the Florida Senior Games held in Clearwater, Fla., December 5-13, 2015. The games are open to Florida residents and non-residents.
Fourteen events are scheduled to take place in and around Destin with the first event beginning Feb. 6 at the Destin Community Center. All seniors age 50 and older can participate. Age divisions have been set for all events. The registration deadline is four days prior to each event. The cost is $10 for the first event and $5 for each additional event. Additional fees may apply for certain events.
Participants can register online, in person at the Community Center or download the registration packet from the website and mail the forms to the Community Center.
