[ARCHIVED] Elections Office to hold a recount for Destin City Council seat

Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections will hold a recount to determine the winner of the third seat on the Destin City Council.

Rodney Braden received one more vote than Tom Weidenhamer, a margin of only .03% based on the number of votes cast. Therefore, immediately following the canvassing board meeting at 10:00am, Friday, March 14, 2014, in the Supervisor’s Crestview office, a machine recount will be conducted. If the machine recount results indicate less than ¼ of one percent gap between the candidates, the manual recount required by law will immediately follow.

Prebble Ramswell and Jim Foreman were elected to the Destin City Council. Unofficial election results are available online at www.GoVote-Okaloosa.com under the ‘Elections Info’ menu.

Please contact Paul Lux at 689-5600 or plux@co.okaloosa.fl.us for questions regarding the recount or recount process.
