The Destin Dog Park received the 2012 Community of Excellence Award from the Northwest Florida League of Cities at the league’s 35th Annual Summer Dinner and General Membership meeting on Friday, May 11, in Panama City Beach, Fla. Councilwoman Sandy Trammell accepted the award on behalf of the city.
“It is such an honor for our city and volunteers to be recognized for this great project,” said Trammell. “Our citizens, council and staff used a lot of creativity and worked very hard to build the dog park. This is a perfect example of empowering volunteer committees to set goals and achieve those goals.”
