Roles & Responsibilities
The Engineering Division is responsible for New Development in the City as well as the regulation of rights-of-way, traffic, drainage, lighting, and paving. Engineering Staff provide engineering/technical support to all City Departments. Staff oversees the design, permitting and construction review of City Projects as well as the Bid, Proposal and Qualification process for those City Projects. Staff also is responsible for review and approval of subdivision, site plans, and construction plans as part of the Development and Permitting Process.
In addition, the Engineering Division assists with the City’s Capital Improvement Projects. The Division also ensures training and compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) and the Stormwater and Floodplain Management Program.
